Abstract

China has emerged as one of the leading global economies in recent times, owing to its multifaceted strategies of economic interdependence, industrialization, and a stable political culture that has remained consistent and focused on creating socioeconomic independence in Chinese society. These attributes have allowed China to ascertain its global hegemonic designs while concurrently challenging the Western narrative of dominance through conflicts and militarized strategies. China has adopted a soft-power approach of creating economic interdependence with states worldwide, undermining the Washington Accord. This has allowed it to develop socioeconomic independence for over a billion Chinese people and established its reputation as a global hegemon. Evolving patterns of the Chinese economy, its technological advancement, narrative building through ideological beliefs, and a focused and stable political system establish the pillars of its international stature. Constructivism and Gramscian Hegemony Theory have been applied as theoretical frameworks, while secondary sources of information have been employed to gather the data. This research study assesses the patterns of the Chinese economic system and its implementation of economic interdependence and other soft power strategies to safeguard its global hegemonic designs.
