This article explores, how artificial intelligence technologies, such as face recognition and big data analytics, affect political control in both authoritarian and democratic systems of government. AI technology governs administration worldwide, although it differs greatly depending on the type of political administration. China serves as the primary case study in this area, with a focus on how AI functions in authoritarian rather than democratic settings. The framework for comparative analysis of governance structures, political effects, and moral dilemmas surrounding AI-enabled surveillance in each nation took into account both China and the democracies. AI raises serious privacy concerns and spreads false information while strengthening the authoritarian government's ability to consolidate power and undermine civil liberties in democracies. Nowadays, the decision-making process is more data-driven and less transparent. In spite of all these obstacles, it is critical to strengthen ethical and legal standards, ensure transparency in the application of AI, and foster international cooperation in order to make AI development democratic and human rights-protected.
