The educational landscape has changed due to artificial intelligence (AI), which has brought about previously unheard-of adjustments in teaching strategies and student learning experiences. AI is capable of optimizing learning outcomes, streamlining pedagogical procedures, and customizing educational resources to meet the needs of each individual student through data-driven machine learning techniques. This study aimed to examine the effect of AI-based learning tools usage on students’ academic performance at secondary school. Major objective of the study was to examine the effect of AI-based learning tools usage on students’ academic performance and compare the academic performance of students who use AI-based learning tools with those who follow traditional learning methods. The research design of the study was quantitative in nature. The population of the study was all the secondary school students. The sample size was (N=384) secondary school students. Stratified sampling technique was used to select the respondents of the study. Adapted questionnaire was used for data collection from sample size of 384. The data was analyzed though regressions test and independent t test. The findings of the study revealed that null hypotheses of the study were rejected and alternative hypotheses were accepted. Moreover, results revealed that AI-based learning tools usage has positive and significant effect on students’ academic performance and those students who used AI-based learning tools have better academic performance than those who use traditional methods. It was recommended that promote schools should actively incorporate AI-based learning tools into teaching strategies to improve academic outcomes. While AI tools are effective, they should be used in conjunction with human instruction to ensure a holistic learning experience. Institutions should regularly assess the effectiveness of AI tools and ensure their alignment with learning objectives.
